Helps family and carers ensure the safety of a person who is prone to wandering outside the home.
Features and Benefits
This device works via GPS mobile phone technology to help relatives or carers track and monitor the location of a person who is prone to wandering outside the house, for example, due to dementia. It is useful to use for a person living independently or living with a carer/relative, but who cannot be constantly supervised. Using the tracking device gives carers peace of mind.
The Tracker requires a mobile telephone SIM card (not included) to be inserted prior to use, and up to five family, friend or carer mobile telephone numbers to be programmed.
It is a fairly small device, with black plastic casing. It has a hole to fit a lanyard through, can be attached to a belt clip, or placed in the person’s bag or pocket.
The five nominated people simply send an instruction via SMS text message from their mobile phone, to the number of the SIM card in the Tracker, in order to receive back a text message detailing the location of the person. The response message includes map co-ordinates and a link to Google Maps (http://maps.google.co.uk). The location data is sent to all five telephone numbers, regardless of which person requested the information.
