Wonderseat Space has been designed for children who require a moderate to high level of postural support in sitting. These are children who will typically be using a tilt-in-space wheelchair, so that the influence of gravity on their posture can be managed.
As part of the clinical rationale for this solution, the postural support supplied is able to match the needs of the client with little-to-no sitting control, with supports easily able to be moved away to help with transfers.
Available in two sizes:
- Size 0: 6months to 5 years old.
- Size 1: 4 – 10 years old

Features
Easy Transfers
The arm supports are easy to remove using the quick-release mechanism to give parents and caregivers easy access during transfers. The anterior trunk support harness features front-access clips that make it easy to get little arms into place without needing to change the length of the harness. Wonderseat Space also features other quick-release and swing-away mechanisms allowing more of the hardware to be positioned away from the child.
Integrated Cam Locks
Mounting points for the anterior trunk support harness are integrated into the back support, removing the need for unnecessary hardware and simplifying the adjustment and removal process.
Hip Belt Mounting
The hip belt is mounted through numbered slots on a specially designed plate, which can be adjusted to ensure precise placement and easy growth. The slots make it simple to remove the hip belt for washing.
Shower Cap Cover
A shower cap cover is supplied as standard, making removal for cleaning easier for families and caregivers. The cushion also includes an incontinence cover under the outer cover to keep the cushion dry.
Reduced Hardware
Where possible, hardware has been reduced, making the seat lighter in weight, but also helping to avoid hardware conflicting or clashing. An example is the stemless head support hardware, which along with the removal of harness guides, greatly reduces the hardware at the rear of the back support.
Spex Growth-Adjust Back Support
The innovative growth adjustment system has an upper sliding interface, meaning that from the initial setup, the back support can adjust in height as the wheelchair user grows. The foam and upholstery unit is matched for the longest growth setting of the back support, so there is no requirement to purchase different sizes of padding.
Wonderseat Constructa Cushion
The innovative Constructa cushion has been specially designed for the Wonderseat range. Modular inner components allow for adjustment and growth as time goes by. The ischial block can be moved towards the back of the cushion as the back support is pushed backward for growth, meaning the ischial tuberosities are always supported exactly where you need them to be.
